Computer Labs
SJC built the first IT lab in Nakibizzi, Uganda (below), and more recently established another one in Wezda, Zimbabwe.
IT Classes
Over 300 children, youth, and community members benefit from IT programs in Uganda, Zimbabwe, Angola, and Mozambique.
Mentoring
Social Justice Club members participate in local mentoring programs.
Fundraisers
We raise funds through individual donations, partnerships with local businesses, and the sale of donated artwork.
Scholarships
SJC has assisted with the school fees of over 50 middle, high school and college students in African countries. Here, we highlight Bella Birungi (third standing from the right). Bella is the first student to graduate from college with an SJC scholarship. She tells us: “Since graduating with my degree in Agribusiness Management, I have been working with Ento Organic Farm Uganda, where I have gained hands-on experience in sales, customer relations, farmer engagement, administration, and training. One of the most rewarding parts of my work has been conducting training for farmers, students, and different groups on sustainable agriculture and Black Soldier Fly farming. I have also participated in research activities, coordinated fieldwork, managed customer records, and contributed to business development initiatives.”
In partnership with our sister organization in Uganda, the Radiant Rays of Light Foundation, we support local communities through a range of initiatives, including renovations and improvements to school infrastructure and other community-based services.
Advocacy
We meet with our local representatives to advocate for children and youth’s rights and participate every year in Amnesty International Write for Rights Campaing
Community building activities
We organize picnics in public parks where we can meet and welcome families who are new to the community, specially immigrants and refugees.
